Lifestyle Portraits
Lifestyle Portraits
Natural, guided portraits that actually look like real life, not a backdrop.
These sessions are built around a real Kelowna setting, not a plain studio wall. Whether you need something for a dating profile, a social media update, a personal milestone, or simply a current photo that actually looks like you, we go to a location that fits who you are.
Where we shoot
Most lifestyle sessions happen on location somewhere in Kelowna: a park, a downtown street, your favourite café, or your own home. If you'd rather keep things simple, a studio session is available too, for a more basic, uniform look or a minor setup that doesn't need a specific location.
Turnaround: Final retouched images are typically delivered within 3–5 business days of your session.
Who This Is For
- You've been using the same photo for a couple of years and it doesn't look like you anymore
- You're setting up a dating profile and phone selfies aren't cutting it
- You have a new role, a new website, or a new chapter and need a current photo to go with it
- You just want good photos of yourself, no deeper reason required
Pricing
Both formats include the same guided posing, on-the-spot review, and retouching. The difference is where we shoot.
On-Location Session
$250 location fee · $85 per retouched image
Covers travel, scouting, and an on-location lighting setup wherever in Kelowna we shoot. The per-image rate reflects the extra time balancing real, existing light with portable flash, since there's no controlled studio setup to fall back on. This is how most lifestyle sessions run, since the real setting is the point.
Studio Session
$195 studio session fee · $65 per retouched image
A simpler option if you want a clean, uniform look or don't need a specific location. Same coaching and editing, just inside the studio instead of out in the city.
"Michelle was amazing to work with. She was so accommodating and made me feel really comfortable throughout the whole process. The photos turned out beautifully, and she had the edits ready so quickly."

How It Works
1. Prep guide sent after booking
What to wear, what to bring, what to expect, sent before you arrive so there's no guesswork.
2. Quick conversation before we shoot
We talk through what you're after and where you plan to use the photos. Two minutes here saves time later.
3. Guided posing throughout
You're shown what to do with your hands and expression from the start. If the first few minutes feel a little stiff, that's normal, it passes fast.
4. Review and choose
We check images as we go and adjust what isn't working. You only pay for the ones you keep.
Wear what you already own and feel good in. Solid colours tend to photograph a little cleaner than busy patterns, but it's not a rule. Bring a second outfit if you want more variety, a change takes a few minutes and gives you a noticeably different set of images.
How is this different from a headshot?
A headshot is built for one professional use: a company website, a LinkedIn profile, a formal bio. Lifestyle portraits are broader and more personal, with a more relaxed look that works across your actual life rather than a single context.
